1월 30일, 현지 시각으로 지금 미국에서는 미네소타 주 미니애폴리스의 반ICE(이민세관단속국), 반 트럼프 투쟁에 연대하는 전국적 셧다운이 진행되고 있습니다. 세종호텔 저녁집회에서 미니애폴리스 투쟁과 전미 셧다운에 연대하는 구호를 함께 외쳤습니다.

미니애폴리스를 포함한 미국 전역에서는 ICE와 미국 트럼프 정부의 국가폭력에 맞서 자치공동체를 꾸려 방한물품과 식량을 구비하고, ICE의 탄압으로 인해 바깥에 나오지 못하는 이주민들에게 물품을 전달하고, ICE 요원에 폭력에 맞서 거리에서 퇴거에 맞서 싸우는 등의 연대가 이루어지고 있습니다.

지난 세종호텔 9차 교섭 집회에서 경찰의 간섭과 채증을 물리치며 함께 외쳤던 '경찰 빠져' 구호는 시위대의 'ICE OUT!' 를 떠올리게 합니다. 수많은 연대물품이 시시각각 도착하는 로비농성 풍경은 미니애폴리스 투쟁과 우리의 투쟁이 비슷하다는 인상을 줍니다.

[January 30 Sejong Hotel Lobby Sit-in: Solidarity with the U.S. Shutdown]

On January 30, in US there is a nationwide shutdown against Trump and ICE. Same day in Seoul, South Korea, international solidarity for shutdown echoed as well.

The Sejong Hotel Labor Union, affiliated with the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU), has been fighting for reinstatement since 2021, when it faced targeted layoffs to union. This struggle continues to this day in 2026. Union Branch Chief Go Jin-su conducted an extreme struggle, occupying a tower in front of the hotel for over 300 days until January this year. After ending the tower occupation, union members and protesters have occupied the hotel lobby, continuing their occupation and protest for over two weeks.

At a rally held ahead of negotiations between the union and hotel, the union and protesters chanted 'Police, get out!' together, repelling police intervention and evidence collection after officers stormed the hotel, ultimately driving them away. This echoes the US protesters' chant of ‘ICE OUT!’ Solidarity supplies continue to arrive at the lobby protest site by the hour, reminiscent of the mobilization of communities across the nation organized to confront state violence.

On January 30th, at the daily evening rally at the Sejong Hotel, participants chanted slogans in solidarity with the Minneapolis struggle and the nationwide shutdown.
